files & folders in the downloaded zip file incorrectly organized

Jun 23, 2009 at 9:05 PM

Why the files & folders in the zip file are organized in such a way that I can't just open the solution and build it without reorganize them?

If I open the .sln file all the projects are unavailable.
When I move the .sln file to an upper folder the projects are available and can be compiled.

Why there are missing files (app.config, GlobalAssemblyInfo.cs, VMWareLib.cd etc.) in the projects ?

Thanks!

The source in the package is just for reference, but I will get it to a point when it "just builds". For now, get it from svn. Make sure to read the CHM for how to build VMWareTasks, there're a few pre-requisites like SandCastle for documentation.

SVN is https://vmwaretasks.svn.codeplex.com/svn/trunk

  • The directory structure of the source needs an additional source subdir, will fix that
  • app.config files are missing from the package, i'll add those
  • GlobalAssemblyInfo.cs is generated at build time, it's in the package but in the wrong place
  • VMWareLib.cd is the class diagram that Visual Studio generates on demand, i don't plan to include those

Hope this helps.

cheers
dB.
